Boost your game, on court or off

There are few bolder, more recognizable logos in the world of sport-inspired footwear than the three stripes that identify adidas shoes.

Since adopting the 3-Stripes – as it came to be known – in 1952, adidas has represented serious performance athletic wear and an international standard of excellence both in running and basketball.

Pure innovation

The adidas PureBoost debuted in March 2014 as the first shoe to extend adidas’ new Boost midsole cushioning the length of the foot. Boost, adidas’ most comfortable cushioning to date, consists of thousands of TPU pellets – “energy capsules” – bound together to form a multifaceted landing pad. It’s not only comfortable but lends a certain visual texture that’s unique among running-inspired silhouettes.

Nomadic style meets substance

Inspired by the ever-moving nomadic lifestyle, the adidas Originals NMD never stops. By referencing elements from three classic adidas running silhouettes – the Micro Pacer (1984), Rising Star (1985), and Boston Super (1986) – the shoe earned its debut in the Originals lineup.

adidas launched the NMD at the Lexington Armory in New York City on Dec. 9, 2015, and drew instant attention and recognizability with the colorful blocks in the heel and forefoot of the midsole.

Ultra comfort

When adidas dropped its UltraBoost in 2015, it added some key pieces to ramp up the shoe’s appeal to runners. It blended Boost cushioning and Torsion underfoot stability with a Primeknit upper, which added breathability and single-layer flexibility and design possibilities.

Aesthetically, the UltraBoost gave sneaker fans some options. They could either opt for the bolder color blocking of the adidas Originals NMD, or they could go the subtler route of the adidas UltraBoost. Either way, comfort was assured.

And if it’s ecological comfort you’re after, adidas has your back there, too, with adidas’ collaboration with Parley for the Oceans. This bold stroke in sustainability repurposed plastic recovered from the world’s oceans for use in adidas’ sneakers.

Boosting your hoop game

Easily recognizable on the hardwood for decades, adidas has still managed to step up its game. The adidas Harden signature series offers both performance and street-ready options by James Harden, one of the most electrifying players in the game.
