Not content with simply another successful member of the Air Max family, the Air Max 270 that debuted in February 2018, the Air Max 270 React adds what may be the Swoosh’s most comfortable cushioning yet.
Built to chill
The Air Max 270 was Nike’ first-ever Max Air-cushioned shoe that was designed with a casual, kicked back lifestyle in mind. It’s a shoe you’d wear to or from a game rather than in a game.
The crown jewel is the Max Air unit, which is the highest Nike has ever installed in a shoe. Its visibility from both sides and from the back simultaneously lends to its name, 270 degrees of visibility. But designers smoothed out the heel-to-toe transition from that stack by scaling down the height, and added React midsole foam.
The upper still features the wavy aesthetic of the rand and the bold colorblocking opportunities afforded by the eye stays, the Swoosh, and the layered supports. Seeing what Nike is going to drop next is always going to keep you checking launch calendars.

If wavy aesthetics are your jam, look also for the Air Max 97. Its wavy layered upper is meant to replicate the concentric circles that radiate across a disturbed pond. With visible full-length Max Air cushioning, consider it a way to make a splash of your own.
The Air VaporMax Flyknit series features the most Air Nike has ever put under your foot, and in an articulated midsole/outsole unit that flexes better than any full-length unit produced.
And there’s the Air Max 90. The chunky midsole houses a visible Max Air unit in the heel, while hits of color around that heel window, at the midfoot on the upper, and on the heel counter let everyone know right away what you’re representing.
There are other Air Max styles available, and no matter which one is right for your collection, you can add premium detailing to your look with Air Max-themed apparel. Tees, shorts, and other items come in sizes for men, women, and kids.
