Kids’ shoes give the little ones a leg up
Big things sometimes come in the smallest packages. Look no further than the dreams of a kid.
You know they’re looking up to the biggest names in the game, but remember that those names aren’t just athletes, and that game isn’t just a sport. They’re looking up to you, too, and your style game. You already tell your story your way, so help set them on the right path.
And maybe the best part? There’s so little difference between boys’ and girls’ feet at that age, the full array of color options for boys’ and girls’ shoes is wide open.
Kids’ Jordan Retro
There’s no bigger name in any game than Michael Jordan. From the mid-1980s to the early 2000s, he dominated professional and international basketball like no one before or since. And his Air Jordan line of signature performance shoes sparked a sneaker revolution that changed the style game as well.
The Jordan brand has been re-releasing favorite silhouettes as retros since the mid-1990s. Sometimes they’re OG colorways, sometimes they’re altogether new. And there are often kids’ sizes dropping right along with the bigs, so keep an eye out for new releases!
Kids’ Nike Air Max
There was no bigger change to the world of running shoes than with Nike’s “Air Revolution” of 1987. The Nike Air Max that dropped that year was the first time the world was able to see the Max Air cushioning unit. Nike had started using Air-Sole units 1978, but this was the first time a small window would show it to the world.
The shoe was so popular that Nike released similar visible-Air models every year since. As with the popular Jordan basketball line, kids can rock some of the hottest looks in Nike’s Air Max history, including the built-up Air Max 90, and the wave-inspired Air Max 95 and Air Max 97.
Kids’ Timberlands
The chillest looks on kids’ feet aren’t just athletically oriented. Timberland boots have been a style staple for grown-ups for years, so why not bring the kids into the mix with kids’ Timberlands.
They’re built to be tough, and their non-slip (and non-marking) outsole helps make them a great all-weather option.
Kids’ Nike Shoes
From basketball courts to running paths and everywhere in between, there are few symbols more common than the Swoosh on kids’ Nike shoes.
But more than just fitting in and running with the pack, kids can still stand out with classic designs like the kids’ Nike Huarache Run – a shoe inspired by an ancient sandal – and with new-school looks like the kids’ Nike Air VaporMax, which boasts the fattest full-length Max Air cushioning to date, and in a segmented outsole that flexes naturally with a kid’s movement.
Kids’ Nike Air Force 1
What debuted on professional basketball courts in 1982 has remained a cultural icon. While originally designed as a high-top basketball shoe – complete with ankle strap – it’s survived more popularly as a low that’s versatile enough to wear with anything.
Its beauty lies in its simplicity. But whether it’s a White/White, Black/Black, or any number of innovative colorways, the kids’ Nike Air Force 1 is always on point.
Kids’ adidas Originals NMD
Inspired by a nomadic lifestyle, which knows no boundaries and never stays in one place too long, the kids’ adidas Originals NMD is a “new classic.” Meaning, while it just debuted in 2015, it draws inspiration from adidas running silhouettes from the 1980s – the Micro Pacer (1984), Rising Star (1985), and Boston Super (1986).
Colored foam blocks under the heel and forefoot are callouts to those predecessors. They also add a fun color splash to an already comfortable shoe that’s built to be in motion but also to look great when it’s not.
