In celebration of their 75th Anniversary, the Pittsburgh Steelers will, on occasion, be wearing throwback uniforms that pay homage to their earlier years. Included as part of this uniform is a new helmet that has never been worn before on an NFL field. It's modeled after the helmet worn in 1962, but has a few differences. Both helmets use a yellow gold shell and a black top stripe. Both have a side decal on the right side only, in a larger size than what the team currently wears. Instead of a light grey face mask, the new helmet will have a black facemask, and instead of the word "Steel" in the oversized decal, it will say "Steelers". The lighter shell color makes it ideal for autographs, and since the team will be wearing it for up to two games this coming season, it's a legitimate collector's item for one of the most popular teams around.
