Don't settle for just any pair of shoes. Be bold. Be classy. Wear sneakers. Converse is more than just your average, everyday pair of shoes; they're a statement. What began as a rubber company, in the early 1900s transitioned to shoes and boots, and eventually in 1917, found the basketball world with its "All-Star" silhouette. The world of athletic footwear has never been the same.

In 1921 a young, rising basketball talent by the name of Chuck Taylor was hired by Converse, and eventually ? due to his direct insight to improve the quality of the shoes ? his name began to be incorporated onto the All-Stars. The "Chuck Taylors" became a huge hit in the basketball community and would soon lead to the release of new models like the Pro Leather, the Star Player, and the Weapon.

From there, Converse took off and began showing up in the streets, clubs, and even were donned on the feet of pop-culture figures such as The Ramones. Their popularity continued to grow due to the numerous color options, which provided incredible versatility. In fact, Chuck Taylor All-Stars are the most successful selling basketball sneakers in history.

One thing became certain: If you were repping that Star Chevron Converse symbol, you were doing more than just wearing shoes. You were making a statement.
